A romp through the park & other stories

Fowl Acting Human

Today, was another beautiful, almost 80 degree day. I decided to go visit my little house and see how long it would take to get home from work in the thick of rush hour. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it only took 40 minutes...not bad.

(on my way home I stopped at my favorite clothing store and bought a bunch of new spring clothes.)

Lords park was full of people.

I drove around Lords Park and along with the 19th century museum, beautiful foliage, old old oak trees, lagoons, swimming pools and water slides, there is a little zoo. Yes...a little "farm zoo". There was a pen with buffalo. I saw a giant buffalo with its giant baby. I would like to say they were cute, but I am afraid that buffalo are one animal that I just can't call cute...not even the baby. One thing that was cute though....the ducks walking along on the side walk that runs along the Buffalo cages, right along side the people, looking at the buffalo. Mr. and Mrs. Duck looked just like they were zoo patrons, chatting with each other about how ugly the buffalo were, yet fascintated by their size.

So, now I've seen it all. A goose window shopping and ducks browsing zoo animals.

Hey, check this out. Some guy in Columbia is actually making a comic book super hero out of The Pope. It is called "The Incredible Pope Man". See the write up and picture below.

BOGOTA, Colombia (Reuters) - Pope John Paul II is being reborn in a Colombian comic book as a superhero battling evil with an anti-Devil cape and special chastity pants.

The first episode of the "Incredible Popeman" is about to go on sale in Colombia and shows the late Polish pontiff meeting comic book legends such as Batman and Superman to learn how to use superpowers to battle Satan.
"The pope was a real-life superhero, of flesh and blood," said Colombian artist Rodolfo Leon, a non-practicing Catholic who has been working on the comic book for about a year.
Like any self-respecting superhero, the Incredible Popeman has a battery of special equipment. Along with his yellow cape and green chastity pants, the muscular super-pontiff wields a faith staff with a cross on top and carries holy water and communion wine.
In the comic book, the pope dies and is reborn with superpowers beyond the infallibility Catholic doctrine gave him on Earth.

Now I hope that no one thinks me irreverant. I greatly admired the Pope, may he rest in peace. I am not laughing at the Pope....I am laughing at the person who is making a comic book superhero out of him....sure had me laughing.
