It's possible

The Physics of Cinderella

Impossible...

For a plain yellow pumpkin to become a golden carriage!

Impossible

For a plain country bumpkin and a Prince to join in marriage!

And four white mice will never be four white horses.

Such fol-de-rol and fiddle-dee-dee of course is.......Impossible!

"But the world is full of zanies and fools,

Who dont believe in sensible rules,

And wont believe what sensible people say,

And because these daft and dewey-eyed dopes keep building up impossible hopes,

Impossible things are happening every day."

........."Impossible," from Rogers and Hammersteins, "Cinderella".

There has been a centuries long debate among philosophers as to whether our lives are predetermined or random. Is their such thing as fate? Do we draw a "lot" in life at the time of our birth? According to the theories and laws of physics, the answer is yes and no.

Phycisists today work off of one of two principals. That of Isaac Newton who gave us the Law of Gravity; or What comes up, must come down. and Quantum Theory.

Quantum Theory suggests that; in the observed world, one can pick a probable outcome based on the observation of something at any given moment. If a ball is thrown into the air, a reasonable prediction can be made as to when and where it will come down, however, in that space between up and down lies the room for possibility it cannot be accurately measured. Something could happen to that ball in between it's point A in the air and point B, the ground.

How does this play into our lives?

If a person is born healthy into a middle class or well to do family and raised by good loving parents, the probable outcome for that child is that he will become a healthy, happy, stable adult.

In contrast, if a baby is born addicted to crack to a poverty stricken single parent, the probabilty that the child will even live into adulthood is low.

Between these two extremes are many different levels of position and momentum.

Possibility lies between point A and point B.

In Quantum theory, EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE, including flying pigs. It's just that flying pigs are not probable. Yes everything and anything is possible but not by just wishing it so. In order for improbable things to be possible it takes a leap of faith and action.

If you are unsatisfied with where you are at any given moment, change direction...what is the probabilty you will end up in the point B of your choice....who cares...point B is the end of your life. It is the in between that counts.....it is the possibiity that makes the journey exciting. It is the in between where the miracles happen, where you touch other lives in their in between, sending them into new directions and so on and so on and so on. Our choices are what drive the world and none of us live in a vacuum.

Dare to believe the impossible...and thank God that...

"The world is full of zanies and fools, who don't believe in sensible rules and don't believe what sensible people say....Because these daft and dewey eyed dopes keep dreaming up impossible hopes....Impossible things are happening every day."
