Looky what I got

This was delivered to my house today

1910...Imported from England...won on Ebay from a local antique importer. Way to big for my tiny dining room but I love her anyway.

Speaking of antiques. Mom in law tried to slip out of the house unnoticed today.

We have all heard the stories of elderly people missing only to be found cold and frightened a day later hiding out in someones garage down the block. Today I found out how that happens.

Mike has been taking her for daily walks and she has been talking about going by herself. I realize that moving in with your children means loss of privacy and I am sure that one's independence is not something easily given up. She has talked before of taking the bus to the casino and going shopping on the bus and we just don't say anything and cringe at the thought.

Mike told her to get dressed and they would go for a walk. She quickly put on her sweat suit and while his back was turned quietly slipped out the door. A few minutes later, he went to get her and she was gone. He ran outside and found her down the block, insisting that she wanted some time alone and not being very nice about it. He walked with her anyway. When they came back around the block, she passed up our house and he said, "Mom, don't you want to go in now."

She replied "Oh, this doesn't look like your house..is this your house?".

I hope she doesnt' try to do this again and succeed.
